Located on the southern crest of the upper Palini Hills near Madurai, Tamil Nadu, Kodaikanal is an ecologically rich location sitting just above 7,000 ft.  The location is renowned for its educational institutes, international spiritual communities, and mesmerizing valleys.

Kodaikanal is home to many varieties of plants and animals and is surrounded by reserved forests which help protect the local environment. Because of the nature of the landscape, many waterfalls flow down the sides of the valley walls year round, some falling hundreds of feet before colliding with the rocky basin.

The Ashram in Kodaikanal is located within a natural environment, and residents spend their time in Kodaikanal immersed in the comforting warmth and protection of nature. In order to encourage a bond between students and the natural surroundings, the Tureya Ashram has not done any significant modifications to the land, and many single track hiking trails weave in and out of the Ashram grounds.
